Der geheime Garten
The more I’m dedicating my time to writing, drawing and creating recipes, the more I feel I can share a bit of myself and connect with the world, with you.
The things I’m writing about, the subjects of my illustrations used to be strictly private – my own secret garden. I did not think that anyone would be interested in mythology, witchy cooking and the pictures and feelings I used to carry inside.
But the more I’m sharing, the more Y O U come forward and tell me how these creations make you feel, that you enjoy and appreciate them.
I don’t care about follower numbers, or whether my work will sell. For each comment, message, call, hug, words of kindness and postcard (!) from you I am so endlessly grateful. Thank you for taking the time to express them! In a world full of fast pictures and overflowing information, taking the time to write a few lines to someone is a generous gift indeed.
The fact that what I do means something to you fills me with so much joy – it’s like I finally am in the place I belong.
My illustration for the Inktober prompt “swing” was rather quickly done today, no time for too many details, I focused on setting the mood instead.
I spent most of the day setting up my Patreon and it is finally up! That said, I don’t want to ask any of you to “pay” for my output. I gladly share what I do with you and am overjoyed to see you recreating the recipes, telling me about your experiences and inquiring about goddess details 😉 . However some of you have expressed their urge to give something in return – and of course I’ll happily accept. So if you like the blog and you want to pay me a cup of tea once a month – Thank you, that’s awesome! To all others: Thank you just as much!
Der geheime Garten
Je mehr Zeit ich mit schreiben, malen und dem Kreieren von Rezepten verbringe, desto mehr bekomme ich das Gefühl, dass ich einen Teil von mir selbst mit der Welt – mit euch – teilen kann.
Die Dinge über die ich schreibe und die Sujets meiner Illustrationen waren für mich immer eine strikt private Angelegenheit – mein eigener geheimer Garten. Ich hab mir nicht vorstellen können, dass sich andere für Mythologie, magisches Kochen und meine Bilder und Gefühlswelten interessieren würden.
Je mehr ich aber teile, desto mehr Feedback bekomme ich von euch: Dass euch die Artikel Freude bereiten, sie geschätzt und die Rezepte und Informationen genutzt werden.
Ich interessiere mich nicht wirklich für die Zahl an Followern auf dem Blog oder auf Instagram. Für jedes Kommentar, jede persönliche Nachricht, jeden Anruf, gelegentliche Umarmungen und manchmal sogar Postkarten bin ich so dankbar. Danke an alle, die sich die Zeit nehmen mir ihr Feedback zu geben. In einer Welt voller schneller Bilder und einem endlosen Fluss an Informationen ist das Zeit-Nehmen für ein paar nette Worte ein großzügiges Geschenk.
Die Tatsache, dass meine Bilder und Artikel bedeutungsvoll für jemanden sind, bringt mir jeden Tag Freude. Es fühlt sich an, als ob ich endlich dort angekommen wäre, wo ich sein soll.
Den heutigen Tag habe ich damit verbracht meine Patreon-Seite zu gestalten. Patreon ist eine Plattform, auf der kreative Menschen mit einem kleinen monatlichen Betrag freiwillig unterstützt werden können. Natürlich möchte ich niemanden bitten, für meine Arbeit auf dem Blog hier zu “bezahlen“. Ich freue mich, wenn ich sehe wie ihr, meine Leser, Rezepte nachkocht, Fragen stellt und von euren Erfahrungen berichtet. Das Interesse an den Artikeln ist meine Belohnung.
Allerdings haben einige den Wunsch geäußert, mich etwas zu unterstützen – das sage ich doch gerne Ja! Wenn dir also der Blog gefällt und du Lust hast mich einmal im Monat auf eine Tasse Tee einzuladen, dann geht das problemlos über Patreon. Vielen Dank dafür!
